Partnering with Antioch University Midwest
Creating mutually beneficial partnerships with those who share our aspirations is an extraordinary opportunity. We align our campus and university-wide initiatives with the goals and objectives of our partners in order to strengthen Antioch University Midwest and the communities we serve. Here are some of our current corporate partnerships:
Greene Memorial Hospital and Soin Medical Center
In December of 2011, Antioch University Midwest deployed the region’s first certified Healthcare Consumer Advocates. Eleven students completed the nine-month certificate program.
This program is made possible in part through the support and partnership of Greene Memorial Hospital and Soin Medical Center as our Title Sponsor. In 2010, the Hospital committed $125,000 in a five-year donation to provide scholarships for up to three of its employees and additional resources to develop the program.
A grant of $30,000 from PNC Foundation made possible the funding of three scholarships per year for three years in Antioch University Midwest’s Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education program. In addition to the scholarship support the grant also provides programmatic support.
Through this partnership, Antioch University Midwest and PNC will work together to better the lives of young people ages birth – five by providing qualified, educated teachers. An important part of this partnership will be the development of relationships with child care centers that are in need of qualified teachers.
The Becker Family Foundation
The Becker Family Foundation of Becker Electric in Dayton, Ohio is Antioch University’s inaugural member of our new “Innovation Circle,” which recognizes the annual giving support of corporate partners.
The Becker Family Foundation will give Antioch University Midwest $10,000 per year for three years beginning in 2011.
Dave Adkinson, a trustee of Antioch University Midwest and one of our campus’ esteemed alumni, is Becker Electric’s president and was instrumental in securing this significant gift.
